Is the exam in person or online?
The TOEFL ITP exam is virtual. You can register for the TOEFL ITP online via the website and take it from anywhere in Colombia.
If you wish to take the exam in person, please contact the nearest Colombian American Center in your city.
How long does it take to receive the results?
Results take between 3 to 5 business days after submitting your exam. We are one of the fastest institutions in delivering results.
I have already registered for the exam. When will I receive the information for the presentation?
The day before your exam, you will receive your exam invitation by email. It is very important that you read all the instructions carefully. You must download the browser to take the exam, and you will find a Zoom link that you must connect to on the day of your exam at the indicated time.

Where is the TOEFL ITP valid?
The TOEFL ITP exam is valid in all Colombian institutions, as it is endorsed by the Colombian Ministry of Education in Resolution 18035 of 2021, in the PROFICIENCY section, which allows it to be recognized in all educational institutions, companies, and in general in all foreign language certification processes.
Is the TOEFL ITP pass or fail?
This exam is not passed or failed. The TOEFL ITP measures your English level from A2 to C1 of the CEFR. You should check with the institution requesting the certificate to find out what level you need for the process you are applying for.
How long is the exam valid for?
Two years from the date of the exam. Ninety-five percent of international exams of this type are valid for two years from the date of the exam.
Can I take the exam every day?
You can check the available sessions on our website. They are usually held on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Remember that the exam is 100% virtual and you can take it anywhere in Colombia.
Remember that you must have a good internet connection.
Requirements and recommendations for taking your exam
Our recommendations are:
- Make sure you have a PC with good internet, preferably connected to cable.
- Preferably, your PC should not be an HP brand, as these devices sometimes kick you out of the exam and the TOEFL platform.
- Make sure you have a webcam and microphone turned on, as the platform monitors these.
- You are in an enclosed space with no other people.
- Do not use two screens, as this will remove you from the exam.
- Do not open any more tabs or browsers.
- Keep your PC connected to the power source at all times.
- Very important: We recommend that you do not use any external devices, do not have cell phones or people around you, focus exclusively on your screen, and do not look anywhere else so that you are not expelled from the exam. The platform detects the movement of your iris outside the screen and flags possible fraud.

If you have an HP computer, make sure it is running properly, as in our experience we have found that some computers of this brand may be incompatible with the exam platform.
⌚ On the day of the exam:
- Connect to Zoom to receive your Session ID and recommendations for taking your exam (Access will not be granted more than 10 minutes after the scheduled time, Colombia TIME).
- Enter the Secure Browser for the exam when instructed to do so by your proctor.
- It is recommended not to use Bluetooth headphones.

Do you offer English courses?
We do not offer English courses. We recommend that you contact the nearest Colombo Americano Center in your city. There you can find out about online and in-person courses to learn and improve your English.
Difference between the TOEFL ITP and TOEFL IBT exams
Basically, the difference lies in the cost, content, grading scale, administration time, and frequency of application dates and results delivery.
The TOEFL IBT costs around $240 USD (approximately one million pesos), while the TOEFL ITP with us is more affordable, ranging from $335,000 for three skills to $443,000 for four skills.
The TOEFL ITP exam results are delivered within 3 to 5 business days after the exam date.
Both are official exams, recognized by various educational institutions and the Colombian Ministry of Education.
However, in most cases, the TOEFL IBT is usually taken to study for an undergraduate degree at a university in the United States once the admission process has been completed.
The TOEFL ITP is used throughout the rest of the world, including Colombia, to certify students at schools, national or foreign universities, or other educational institutions.
It is also used for applications to work in a national or international company.
How do I access the results verification platform?
If you took your exam with us, starting in November 2024, we will be innovating with an automatic results generation platform.
Your exam certificate will be delivered within 3 to 5 business days after you take the exam.
Your TOEFL ITP certificate submitted to the Fulbright Friends Foundation is now available! You can find it by logging into My Certificates:

To log in to this platform, go to the top right corner and click “log in.” You will be asked for your username and password. Both pieces of information correspond to your ID number without periods or commas.
