Difference between the TOEFL iTP and TOEFL iBT exams
Basically, the difference lies in the cost, content, grading scale, administration time, and frequency of test dates and results delivery.
Both are official exams recognized by various educational institutions and the Colombian Ministry of Education.
However, in most cases, the TOEFL iBT is usually taken to study for an undergraduate degree at a university in the United States, once the admission process has been completed.
The TOEFL iTP is used throughout the rest of the world, including Colombia, to certify students at high schools, national universities, or other countries’ educational institutions.
It is also used for job applications at national or international companies.

Is the exam in person or online?
Depending on the exam you are taking, you have the option of taking it in person and/or online. We invite you to check the information for each option.
Where is the international exam valid?
The international exams offered by the Fulbright Friends Foundation are valid in all Colombian institutions, as they are endorsed by the Colombian Ministry of Education in Resolution 18035 of 2021, in the PROFICIENCY section, which allows them to be recognized in all educational institutions, companies, and in general in all foreign language certification processes. He is also welcomed at various international institutions and in visa processes.
Are international exams pass or fail?
Exams are not failed or passed; they measure your English level from A1 to C2 of the CEFR. You should check with the institution requesting the certificate to find out what level you need for the process you are applying for.
How long is the exam valid for?
In most cases, the time limit is two (2) years from the date of the exam. 95% of international exams of this type are valid for two years from the date of the exam. To be sure, we invite you to verify the complete information about the exam you wish to take.
Do you offer English courses?
We do not offer English courses. We recommend that you check with the Colombian American Center closest to your city. There you can check out online and in-person courses to learn and strengthen your English.
